Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating background to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect spot, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a few controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is true of many border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace.
