Cambodia Casinos

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not legal. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that features many conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
